Leopards have featured in the mythology of many cultures, especially in Africa. During the Benin Empire in Nigeria, the leopard symbolized the power of the king or Oba, since it was considered the king of the forest. Which seems a fitting role for this majestic big cat. This mixed media piece is scratchboard colorized with watercolor.

Hello, and thank you for visiting! I really appreciate that you took the time to not only view my artwork, but also wanted to learn more about me, the artist - wow! I began painting in 2015, and my very first subject was my dog, Smudge. Which seems appropriate, since he is a dachshund and many of the great artists such as Picaso and Andy Warhol have owned and painted the dachshunds they adored! Currently I'm working in scratchboard, acrylics and watercolors. My work is constantly evolving; which is an excuse for being indecisive and not settling on a medium of choice.
