Description
My yard is filled with noisy blue jays, well known for their loud, harsh calls. Blue jays often mimic the calls of the Red-shouldered Hawk, another common bird here in Ohio. Its thought that they might use this technique to deceive other birds into believing a hawk is present, maybe to scare them away from a food source.
