Description
I had done a similar version of this artwork when I first started painting. I liked it, but I felt I could do a much better job with the koi fish, so that led to this artwork. This was painted on artboard with watercolor and ink liners, and was then varnished with poly acrylic finish so that it may be displayed without glazing. Is it watercolor or mixed media, I don't know - somewhere in between maybe? Many thanks to photographer Jason Leung for the use of his koi fish photo as reference!
