Description
Gila woodpeckers are a common site throughout Arizona, and are well adapted to desert life. They can often be found poking their heads out of a cacti hole that they've hollowed out! This is a mixed media scratchboard piece of a male, who can be recognized as such by the bright red spot on top of his head.
