Description
Introduced in 1961 by Gibson, the Hummingbird pickguard, with its vines, flowers, and bird pattern, have remained a favorite among guitarist. Since then, the iconic pickguard has been added by other guitar manufacturers to numerous other models of guitars. This mixed media scratchboard art pays homage to this beautiful guitar design - illustrating a black guitar in partial shadows with that wonderful hummingbird pickguard highlighted with its common tortoise shell colored background! Did I mention that my first guitar was a Hummingbird model? Not a Gibson - but a very cheap knockoff bought at a Perry's Drug Store in 1975!!
